Lambchop “Is a Woman” Tour

[ 53 ] August 13, 2010 |

Lambchop to perform “Is a Woman” in its entirety. See them live in November: Germany, Poland, Denmark, Croatia, Sweden, Austria, and Switzerland.

“Lambchop’s sixth full length is an incredibly spare and haunting album — piano and delicately picked guitar vie for space with silence and otherworldly flourishes in Kurt Wagner’s most affecting batch of songs ever, and a most harrowing and powerful presentation.”

PLEASE, please, please, please…. come to Norway. Oslo has more live music than Copenhagen and Stockholm combined… have three great venues for all different sizes.

  6. robert says:

Please oh please perform this in the states as well.

  7. Paul says:

I saw this…in 2002! Their UK tour before the album came out played pretty much the whole album as far as I can remember…and as a “reward” for the fans sitting through so much unknown material they played Up With People in the encore.

I’d love to see it again…come to Bristol please!

  8. Nick says:

If you could bring this to Australia…. you’d make me very happy. Thank you.

  16. John says:

One show in London – no way. Come north please. Saw Bonnie Prince Billy in Manchester Cathedral recently -would be a great venue for Lambchop.

  17. Colin says:

Where did you get the idea that there will be only one London show, John?

  18. John says:

Whoops, I was looking at wrong tour dates. The KORT tour has a London date – still waiting for any additional ‘Is A Woman’ tour dates to be posted as hinted by admin earlier.

  19. Gary says:

  26. david says:

What a delight for European Lambchop fans, I saw LC 2002 tour and would love to see this show.Come to San Francisco! When Lambchop played San Francisco last I smoked a cigarette with Kurt before the show and told him my all time favorite LC song was New Cobweb Summer. When this came out during 2002 I used to sneak out of work ride around in my car and play this song and the album over and over but mostly New Cobweb Summer. In reflection from a 2002 vantage point I think the song simply cathartic for me a reminder, perhaps, of “pre-911″ summers. Here is a great article regarding the song.

  27. One of my favorite albums of all time,
    please come to Lyon France

    bristol yea

  29. Richard says:

Please a thousand times come back to Scotland. Remember the Sunrise gig at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh back in 2004? Absolutely fantastic. Well the Hall’s had a lick of paint: and is the perfect place for the Is A Woman tour! Says I. You know you want to.

  30. A woman says:

Is the original band that recorded this album touring, or is it an entirely new lineup?

  31. A woman says:

I think the world wants Lambchop 1996-2002 reunion show with original lineup!

  32. Cees Timmer says:

    No concerts in The Netherlands?

  33. Lucy says:

PLEASE come to the UK with this show!

  34. Mark says:

Thought i’d throw in Canada’s hat as far as another place who would love a tour date…

  35. Steven says:

I second the plea, on bended knees, come back to Oslo. I worked as a stagehand on your concert here a few years ago, just after Damaged came out, never having heard of you, thinking it was just another gig, and was knocked on my harris. Been a devout fanatic ever since. If you come back, I will happily work for free. No, wait, I will pay to see the concert AND pay work on it too. I can’t say fairer than that.

    What do you say…………………..?

  36. Paul says:

The City Halls in Glasgow is made for a Lambchop gig…

  37. Jafar says:

No Italian tour? We welcome Lambchop to Turin

  38. Morten says:

No concert in Norway? Please come visit us again. Is a Woman is by far my favorite Lambchop album and it gets heavy rotation here at home

  39. Parsley76 says:

Great to see you spread the love around alot of Europe. If you do come to UK then 2 gigs would be nice.

  40. Jerry says:

My favourite Lambchop album and they ain’t coming to the UK. Bugger! Come to Wales. Please!

  41. simon says:

Just orderd the LIVE box set plus Is a Woman and Nixon ltd edition vinyl and CDs from City Slang.. There goes this weeks dinner money ! 😉

  42. Celine says:

I hope Dublin will be included in this tour.

  43. Martin says:

I’m sure some UK dates will be in the offing. Re previous post – not sure about Usher Hall as ideal venue – to big. Best ‘Chop show ever was at the Empire in Belfast, beautiful intimate hall. If I’m honest, I’d prefer a ‘Nixon’ tour with full band line-up but I’m not complaining.

  44. garance says:

i hope you will play is a woman in france, one day…

  45. Paul Ryding says:

Aw Cmon….UK dates please!!!! Do it.

  46. Filippo says:

I suggest not to come in italy.
There would be only a couple of persons and me to buy a ticket.
    I’ll come to zurich.
This country deserves nothing but lady gaga.

  49. oisin.james says:

    Northern Ireland date?
Please come to Belfast, seen belle and Sebastian perform in the ulster hall a few days ago – would be the perfect venue for lambchop, plus it’s home to the ulster orchestra who would probably jump at the chance to perform with kurt and lc!

  50. juliane says:

    dear lambchop!

i just wanted to thank you for the gorgeous night in gera. that was really one of the best concerts i’ve seen so far! i hope you enjoyed it, too. and maybe you’ll come back one day, in summer…
